I’m Jackie, and Jackie Doing Jackie is my next chapter — a space to share the stories, lessons, and adventures that come from starting over and choosing me. I built this space for anyone who’s had to begin again — to remind you that when everything changes, you still get to choose yourself.
After decades of teaching, traveling, and leading emergency response teams across British Columbia, I found myself at a personal crossroads. My “forever” wasn’t forever, and for the first time in years, I had to ask: What now? The answer came in small, brave steps — a ticket to Paris, a windy ferry terminal, and the decision to build something new, just for me.
Today, I’m still doing what I love — teaching, connecting, and helping people find strength when life doesn’t go to plan. Only now, I’m doing it with a renewed sense of freedom, laughter, and curiosity. When I’m not working with communities on disaster preparedness or training volunteers, you’ll find me journaling, exploring a new city, or planning my next adventure — preferably somewhere with good coffee and a great story waiting to happen.
This space isn’t about having it all figured out — it’s about showing up, doing your best, and finding joy in the process.
